The Ministry plays a significant role in advancing Sarawak’s aspiration of achieving high income and developed status by 2023 through strategic initiatives in Education, Innovation and Talent Development. In order to achieve this, it is significant for Sarawak to overcome the challenges of coping up with the changes brought not only by the Digital Era but the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Therefore, in line with Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS), the Ministry has provide various initiatives and efforts to empower the State’s Education, Innovation and Talent Development in order to provide our promising talents with conducive teaching and learning environment, as well as relevant platforms to drive innovation.

In order to ensure a supply of capable talents for our future workforce, the Ministry will collaborate with other respective relevant Ministries and industry players to complement efforts in promoting STEM Education, improving English language proficiency and conducive learning environments in schools in an effort to achieve the target of 60% secondary school students to enter Science class at the national level.
